In our Nursery and Infants, the sporting emphasis is on enjoyment and participation rather than on competitive sport. The Sports Day in the summer term, held in the Sports Hall, is a very enjoyable event which engages all of the children and is well-attended by parents.
The range of sports played and the success enjoyed in the Juniors and Senior School is impressive and there should be something for everyone!
Our netballers have enjoyed tremendous success in recent years and have recently won Juniors AJIS competitions, Oldham Schools’ Cups and the England Independent Schools’ Cup. Our U16 team are current all England champions.
There is a full programme of football with both the Junior and Senior School teams representing the school regularly. Last year, two teams were Oldham Schools’ Champions.
School teams are current Oldham Schools’ Champions in table tennis, cross-country and cricket and boasts individual winners in cross-country and athletics. Swimming is strong from Juniors up with Hulme teams qualifying for national relay finals in each of the last two years.
We aim to support our pupils in whatever their sporting interest and currently have pupils who compete at a national level in: netball, equestrian sport, gymnastics, snowboarding, synchronised swimming and modern pentathlon.
