Pupils may either purchase their lunch at school which is served on a cafeteria basis in the dining room or bring a packed lunch.
We do not allow pupils in years 7 to 11 to visit local shops to purchase food; those living in close proximity to school may seek written permission to go home for lunch. There is a wide variety of food on sale from a menu which changes weekly and the school attaches great importance to the promotion of healthy eating. In addition to the vegetarian main meal, pasta, rice dishes and filled jacket potato dishes are available daily. Halal food is available and indicated on our menus.
We operate a cashless till system and meals are paid for via the pupil’s ID card. All top ups to lunch accounts must be made via ParentPay, the school is no longer accepting cash payments.
We have again been awarded a 5***** rating from the Environmental Health Department, this is in recognition of our records and procedures and our healthy eating programme.
Due to the current pandemic, we have made some changes to our menus and service delivery.
Senior school pupils in one year group each day are asked to bring a packed lunch to aid social distancing in the dining rooms. These can be eaten in Form bases or in the designated recreational zone.
Following Government guidance, the ‘self-service’ element has been removed, this includes disconnecting water fountains and the vending machines.
We have introduced ‘grab bags’ which include a sandwich, fruit, snack and water, these are being ordered and delivered daily to our Juniors’ buildings.
All food is served in environmentally friendly biodegradable packaging.

the meat that we use is both Halal and non Halal and this information is available on the daily menu board.
