Hulme’s Year 11 students are celebrating having achieved another superb set of GCSE results this summer, matching last year’s record breaking results. The overall pass rate is 98%; with 98% of students achieving the national benchmark of at least 5 x 9-4 grades including English and Maths.

A third of Hulme’s grades were at 9-8 level, and again well over half of Hulme’s grades (55%) were at 9-7 level. 46% of the cohort achieved the threshold of at least 7 x 9-7 grades for one of Hulme’s academic scholarships to enter the sixth form, including 24 students (28% of the cohort) who gained 9 or more 9-7 grades.

Hulme’s top performer was Charlie Chadwick who achieved the remarkable feat of securing a full set of 10 x Grade 9s. There were many other superb individual performances including: Tiger Edwards (7 Grade 9s) and Aleksander Markiewicz (5 Grade 9s, 5 Grade 8s). The top performing girls were: Suzie Bennett, Natasha Dawson, Madison Deakin, Samantha Phelan, Daisy Plevin and Francesca Southern who all achieved at least 7 grades at 9/8 level.

The Principal, Mr Craig Mairs, commented: “I am delighted that our pupils have maintained the very high standards set last academic year. They can be extremely proud of these excellent results which reflect their hard work over the last two years, as well as the commitment and skill of their teachers. They can now look forward to beginning their A Level courses.”
