The following 71 old-boys of Oldham Hulme Grammar School, and one member of staff, lost their lives as a result of the war.

9th January 1915, aged 19.

Died from pneumonia while training in the UK.
Clerk of Glodwick Road. Enlisted when war was declared.
Private, 11th Hussars.

Philip Nicholson Stott
21st March 1915, aged 18.

Died from pneumonia while training in the UK.
Son of Sir Philip Sidney Stott, designer of 22 cotton mills in Oldham.

21st May 1915, aged 23.

Killed in action at Gallipoli.
Technical Clerk with Messrs Platt Brothers & Co.

2nd June 1915, aged 27.

Died from wounds at Gallipoli.

James Tatlock Littler
7th August 1915, aged 24.

Killed in action at Gallipoli.
Assistant Secretary, Cotton Mill. Had previously served in the Territorials.

22nd August 1915, aged 20.

Died from wounds at Gallipoli.
Attended Sandhurst intending on a military career. Twice wounded.

27th April 1916, aged 19.

Died on HMS Russell when the ship hit a mine.
Attended Marlborough College intending on a military career.

Died of unknown cause in Baghdad whilst a prisoner of war.
