A-Level Results Day 2017

Oldham Hulme Grammar School sixth form students have achieved another set of impressive A Level results this summer. For the first time in five years the overall pass rate is 100%, and the % of grades at A* level is the highest the school has ever achieved at 12%. In total 60% of Hulme’s grades were at A*-B level.

Our top performers were: Joanna Berechula, Alex Sledge and Jake Scott who all achieved 3 A* grades.  Joanna and Alex are both taking up places at Oxford to read History and Chemistry respectively; whilst Jake is pursuing his love of theatre at the Central School of Speech and Drama on a Design for the Stage course this autumn. In addition a further four Hulme students: Clover Cheng, Ben Knightly, Annie Preston and Jerry Xu achieved 2 A* grades each. 28% of Hulme’s cohort achieved at least 1 A* grade and 20% of Hulme’s students achieved at least 3 A grades.

Each year Hulme’s sixth form welcomes students new to the school to study A Levels, some of whom have benefitted from Hulme’s new sixth form scholarship scheme. The results of this year’s cohort are excellent as they achieved 81% A*-B grades.

The school is very pleased with these excellent results, which are reward for the dedication and commitment of both pupils and staff at Hulme. Our Year 13 cohort can look forward to taking up the top university places they have secured in the autumn and the school wishes them every success for the future.
