Why choose the sixth form at Hulme over any other other school sixth form or college? As the most senior members of the school, students have plenty of opportunities for responsibility and participation in a wide range of extra-curricular activities. There’s a real sense of community spirit in the sixth form common rooms and students new to Hulme feel quickly at home.

The sixth form is housed in its own dedicated accommodation, consisting of two large common rooms with kitchens attached. There are plenty of easy chairs for relaxing and socialising, tables and chairs for academic study and many computer work stations.

Sixth form life at Hulme enables students to develop new interests, such as Young Enterprise, or to continue with favourite extra-curricular activities to the highest level, as in the Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award. The Enrichment Programme has something for everyone, with Sports Leadership and First Aid courses, Japanese and gardening.

Personal development is enhanced through Community Action or being a Prefect, Form Helper or Academic Mentor. Privileges and freedom are here to be enjoyed in return for high expectations in behaviour, attitude and commitment to study.

Tuition from experienced, well-qualified, specialist teachers in small classes helps students to fulfil their academic potential. Many of our most able students extend their learning by studying independently for an Open University module.

Individual careers advice for sixth form students is available at all times during the school day. Assistance and support with the UCAS process is a great strength of Hulme, resulting in many offers at top universities for competitive and prestigious courses.
