£20m by 2020
The main purpose of the Development Office is to implement a fund raising strategy for both a capital investment program and bursaries, as well as promoting and marketing the school. We have a bold vision for Oldham Hulme and in the spirit of the ambitious regeneration program in Oldham, we will aim to invest in the development of modern facilities and its pupils. It is not unreasonable, given the scope of what we envisage, to invest £20m into buildings, facilities and bursaries by 2020.
The challenge
We are a “money in, money out” institution and as such, need to find ways to raise capital to pay for our projects. The majority of the funds will hopefully come from regular donations and legacies but we will also look at creative ways of funding such as joint ventures and sponsorship.
Our projects
Below is an illustrative range of some of our capital intensive projects
All weather sports pitch
New laboratories
Drama and concert facility
Refurbishment of swimming pool
New preparatory school building
We are also developing some exciting new programmes including:
A twinning project with a school in Ghana
Creating links with China
A Hulme TV Channel
Events to celebrate our success as a school, foster better community relations and derive better PR value
Bursaries
Oldham Hulme is a traditional school that combines grammar education with family values. It is vital that we provide opportunities to bright young people who cannot afford to come here so that they can enrich the lifeblood of our community. Some of our former pupils who have come through the bursary system have gone on to do great things and have contributed greatly to society as well as to our school.
